Technical requirements for card acceptance

To accept payments with American Express, a merchant agreement is required. You can easily complete it online – right here.

Once the agreement is concluded, we will activate your setup with the payment provider of your choice.

Below is an overview of compatible providers:

Accept payments directly in your store – for example, at the checkout or using a mobile device.
You’ll need a card reader from a certified provider. Here is a selection of commonly used providers in Switzerland:

American Express can be integrated with all common PSPs (Payment Service Providers). A selection in Switzerland:

Other European providers are also possible. We’d be happy to review the integration together with you.

With these providers, American Express is already included – no additional contract is required.
The entire process – from the transaction to the accounting – is handled directly by the respective payment provider.

  • Payouts directly from the provider – independent of the card issuer
  • Accounting and reconciliation through your existing system

  • myAccount – View transactions and payouts online
  • Data export – As Excel, CSV or PDF
  • Standard formats – RAF, MRX, GRCCN
